The new entrant amidst the galaxy of actors in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is Yash Tonk .Yash has entered the show as Ganga’s (Shilpa Saklani) past love and will have gray shades to his character.Talking about his character, Yash says, “I am playing Shiv Singhania who is filthy rich, powerful, sophisticated man and an obsessive lover. I was a part of Ganga’s life but circumstances didn’t allow us to end up together. Her exit from my life has brought a lot of changes in me. Now I want her back in my life at any cost.I will make it difficult for Ganga and her husband Sahil.”Co-incidentally, Yash’s character in his afternoon show Karam Apna Apna is also called Shiv.

There goes another myth about television. One always thought iconic figures on television were irreplaceable in audience minds. Going by that premise, one presumed Tulsi on Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was Smriti Irani, and vice-versa.
When Smriti, who’s synonymous with Tulsi, decided to leave Kyunkii… to pursue a career outside Balaji Telefilms as a software producer and an actress, it was presumed that her parent-serial’s fortunes would plummet drastically. To everyone’s surprise Gautami Gadgil who played the replacement-Tulsi managed quite well.

Reshmii Ghosh, popularly known as Bhoomi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is preparing hard for her first reality show Kaun Jeetega Ticket to Bollywood. “It has been 2 years since I entered the industry and I wanted to do a reality show. Last year I and Amit Gupta had been offered the Nach Baliye wild card entry, but we refused it as I was busy in work,” she says. “Though I am not a dancer I have done lots of rehearsals and in the past one year I did many stage shows so my stage fear is gone now. I am feeling more confident so I think this is the correct time for me to do this show,” she explains.

After the re-entry of Lakshya and a lead opposite him (Vaidehi), now it is time for Karan and Nadini’s son to enter Kyunki. A source from the production informs, “We are hunting for the guy. We have not finalized the track for him but he will be Karan and Nadini’s long lost son. We have kept all our options open so we may cast a fresh face or may be an established star. Ekta will take the final call. I guess everything will be out soon and we will make a proper announcement.” The track of Karan-Nadini’s son has been pending for a long time. Before Smriti Irani’s entry Nandini came to know that Mandira had stolen her new born baby.

Tell us something about Kahaani Hamaare Mahabharat Ki.I feel there’s too much hype around it. It’s scary. This is my interpretation on the revered epic and our first genre-defying attempt. We can’t afford to go wrong. Mythology sure is exciting!

What made you turn your attention to mythology?
We realised we couldn’t go on doing the same thing though soaps are our daal chawal at Balaji Telefilms and they’ll always be in demand, but we felt the need to move into different areas.

Gautami Kapoor’s role as Juhi Thakural in Kyunki is getting over this week. Scriptwriter Anil Nagpal tells us how she will exit. “I do not know what is coming on air right now but I have written the end for Gautami’s track. There is going to be a grand finale type event which will mark Gautami’s end. The entire family will come to know about her truth. We are not going to kill her in the show. Her character will leave the Virani house and she will just go away from the show. It is not like we are leaving our options open for bringing her back in the show as I do not know whether we will need her track in future.”

It will have the likes of Iqbal Khan , Yuvraj Malhotra, Rucha Gujrati and Aashka Goradia.After making a grand comeback after almost one year on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi , actress turned producer Smriti Irani is all set to produce a show for Zee titled Waaris. Yuvraj Malhotra, one of the leads of the show, says, “Rucha and Aashka have been penned down to play the lead actresses in the show. Rucha will be opposite me while Aashka will play love interest to Iqbal.”

Rakshanda Khan (Tanya of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi), is extremely upbeat about her new avatar. A few days from now, Rakshanda will be seen playing Amba’s character in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming, Mahabharat.In fact, Rakshanda has already started shooting for the show. “I will be sporting a look which is quite contrary to expectations. The Amba of this show is not similar to that of Ramanand Sagar’s Mahabharat. I was pleasantly surprised when I learnt about the look. Manish Malhotra has done a fabulous job with the costumes,” she says excitedly.
