It seems Balaji is in no mood to drag its shows. More so those that are not generating the required TRPs and the latest show that will get axed is the late night soap Kayamath on Star Plus.According to a well placed source from the industry, “The show is tipped to go off-air in February, 2009 as then the show will complete two years. Ekta Kapoor was always clear that the show will not run for an indefinite period and even the contract was made accordingly.Also the show started with the love story of Jay Bhanushali and Panchi Bora it then deviated from the original track. Also Shabbir Ahluwalia wants to concentrate on his Bollywood career which he can’t because of his commitment to the show. The show registered a rise in TRPs in the recent past but of late there is a serious dip in the TRPs.”

Star Plus’ Kayamath is going for a 4-year leap and a new Bengali family is going to be introduced this Thursday, September 10th. The post leap will show Prachi (Panchi Bora) in the Dasgupta household where she is wedded to Proteek Dasgupta played by Gaurav, a newcomer to television.Telly Buzz talked to Panchi Bora to know more on the post-leap story. “I am very much missing the Shah family, Sanjeeda, Shabbir and Jay. But I am sure that the new family will be accepted by the viewers”, says Panchi.

Jay Bhanushali’s popular character of Neev in Kayamath is going to die in the show soon. When asked about it, Jay hinted, “There is going to be a twist soon but I do not know much about the track. But after my role in Kayamath gets over I am planning to take a break.” On his plans for the break, he reveals, “I will be abroad for one month with my friends,” and adds, “I am going to miss everything about Kayamath as this is my first show and it gave me so much recognition. I will also miss Panchi and all my co-stars.” Looking back at his role in the show, he says,” I think I did justice to the character of Neev. There was nothing left to do so it was the right time to move on.”

Jay Bhanushali who has made an exit from his debut show Kayamath early last month promised that he will return with a bang. And fulfilling his promise Jay is reportedly back with a brand new Balaji show titled Kambakht Ishq. A well placed source says, “Jay has been offered to play the lead in Balaji’s Kambakht Ishq, which he has happily accepted.”
The actor rubbishes it as rumour and says, “I have not been offered the role as yet and as of now I am busy with a few small shows.”
An actor-friend of his too confirms the news and says, “Jay in all probability will play the lead in Balaji’s Kambakht Ishq.”

Another Ekta Kapoor loyalist has quit a show that made him a household name. Neev aka Jay Bhanushali is all set to quit Kayamath. A few days ago, Jay had expressed to Ekta that he had very little to do in the show and was at crossroads. Chocolate boy Jay Bhanushali who left his fans mesmerized with his enduring smile as Neev Shergill of Kayamath is quitting the show. The Telly Buzz team caught up with Jay to know the reason behind this and finds out what he plans for the future. Says a source from the Kayamath unit, “Earlier, Jay had great visibility in Kayamath. But after the storyline changed, the focus is on Shabir Ahluwalia.

Due to heavy public demand, the story of Kayamath, Ekta’s serial running on star plus is being changed. Previously, Milind & Prachi were supposed to get divorce, but now script writers are taking heed of public demand.
A source from the production house informed us, “We are getting lots of responses from the public saying that they want to see Milind and Prachi together in the show. That’s not all. The channel is also thinking about bringing them together.”

He is one of the most sought after actor on the small screen. But, for a while now, the Balaji loyalist Eijaz Khan has been lying low. After creating buzz with his marriage to co-star Anita Hasnandani (of Kavvyanjali fame), the actor hasn’t signed any new serial so far, except for a cameo in Balaji’s Kayamath.
Reportedly, the actor has signed a three film deal with Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC). Ask the actor about it and he says, “I am doing Meera Bhai Not-Out at the moment with PNC and its going to be a subject with a difference. There are more film projects lined up but it’s quite premature to speak about them at the moment.”

Sanjeeda Sheikh aka Ayesha of Kayamath is also gearing up for her Bollywood debut. The 21-year-old actress has been filming for Pankh, a joint venture of Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films and Rohit Roy’s Magicworks! A hush-hush affair consequent portion of the film, which stars Bipasha Basu, has been shot.
Reportedly, Sanjeeda didn’t don any make-up for the film. The producers had instructed her to maintain I’m-at-home look. Sanjeeda plays an aspiring actress who has a pushy mother at home in the film. She cues up for auditions across the city but she is not too happy with her profession. A source says, “She used to wake up in the morning, wash her face and just land up on the sets.”
